Flat-top Spirea
Deciduous shrub, grows up to 25-60cm tall. Prolific spreader through rhizomes. Leaves are oval - oblong-ish, but wider towards tip and leaf base tapering to stalk. Double tooth above middle, dark green above, pale green below. Flowers are tiny, dull white, often pale pinkish tinge. Dense nearly flat topped clusters.
Wide spread and common at low to sub-alpine elevations in open, dry to moist forests, open dry, rocky slopes and clearings.
The St'at'imc used this plant to make medicine for stomach ailments and diarrhea.
