Environmental Technician | Cultural Monitor

Fred Sheep, a member of the Sekw’el’was community,  has been an Environmental Technician for over 10 years and is the go-to-guy for maintenance, management and all things handy at the Splitrock Nursery. Fred has his First Aid certification and is most proud of his work on the Walking With The Smolts Festival, the annual Lillooet event honouring small salmon leaving local waters for the ocean. Fred enjoys being his own boss, wood working and keeping active with long walks.

Dorian Leech

Environmental Technician | Fisheries Technician | Cultural Monitor

Dorian Leech, a member of the T’it’q’et community,  is an Environmental and Fisheries Technician, as well as Cultural Monitor. He has been at Splitrock Environmental since 2015. Dorian received his Environmental Resources Technician certificate and has been with Splitrock since he first applied as a summer student. When he is not at work, Dorian enjoys fishing, camping and playing video games.

Nursery Assistant

As our resident Nursery Assistant, Ashley is always working hard to take care of the plants we have here at Splitrock. Currently, she is working through a BA in Health Science at Simon Fraser University. Before joining our team, Ashley helped to plant, care for and spread awareness about Whitebark Pine. During her off time, you’ll find Ashley in her garden or roaming the hills with her dog, Bridgette.

Matt Senger

Matt Senger

Environmental Technician

Matt is an Environmental Technician here at Splitrock. He is currently completing wildlife research for grizzly bears and wolves, processing wildlife camera photos and recreational data and environmental monitoring. Having completed an Environmental Natural Resources Technical Diploma at Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, Matt is currently working towards a Registered Biologist Technician Designation at the College of Applied Biology. Matt’s passion is wildlife, which is why he’s proud of the work that Splitrock is conducting for the SFI Grizzly project.

Chris Bob

Occupational Health and Safety Representative

Described by his colleagues as “The guy that gets stuff done,”, Chris works hard to ensure the safety of all Splitrock Environmental employees. Chris brings lots of knowledge to the team as he has previously worn many hats, including as an Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner, Environmental Technician, Environmental Moniot and more. Chris has worked 5-6 years in the environmental field and holds RISC, FREP and Electrofishing certifications. When he’s not at work, you’ll find him spending time with his family.
