Sekw’el’was Traditional Land and Resource Management Capacity Building Project

The Sekw’el’was Community has been working with Splitrock Environmental on a project that aims to build the capacity of the community to manage their traditional lands and resources. This project started in 2017, and so far has included training two new land-use advisors in field surveying, GIS mapping, and data management. With the success of the project so far, plans are rolling ahead to provide additional training and mentorship, and adding support to the decision-making process.

For more information on the project, and why it is important to the Sekw’el’was Community, check out this short video: https://vimeo.com/266740910
